The Normal format for this league is as follows:
20/24 Team members required
The normal format is 4 players per team and each player has 2 bowls.
Each group plays against the other club over 18 ends
Each match is worth 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw, the overall points score is added up and the side with the most points will gain an extra 2 points meaning 14 points are on offer before the game starting.
There are 12 sides in the league playing each side once in a home and away format.
However for this year due to the COVID 19 Virus, the format for playing league games on a Wednesday has had to changed.
Rinks with 4 members in a team are not allowed due to too many people being on the green.
New Format for 2020/21
The new format is 6 teams of pairs, each using 4 bowls over 18 ends.
COVID restrictions are being applied to the normal rules for which each must follow.
Failure to do this could result in clubs being expelled from the league at worst or reported for breaching the rules regarding social distancing etc.
